French and Francophone Society - Standard Membership

Bonjour!
Welcome to the French & Francophone Society at the University of Hertfordshire!
We’re a society for anyone who loves, speaks or wants to discover the French language and the cultures that come with it. That means France, of course, and also the many other places where French is spoken: Belgium, Québec, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Gabon, Cameroon, Senegal, Congo, the Caribbean, Réunion Island and many more.
What We Do
We organise events throughout the year to bring people together around French & Francophone culture:
Weekly French Café conversation sessions for all levels
French film nights, quizzes and games nights
Crêpe nights and French traditions such as the Galette des Rois and La Chandeleur
Cultural evenings from French-speaking African countries, the Caribbean and Réunion Island
And something special: a French party to celebrate the Fête de la Musique
Why Join Us?
Whether you’re a native speaker, an exchange student, learning French or have never said more than “bonjour”, you’re welcome here!
Joining us is a great way to:
Practise your French in a relaxed setting
Discover new cultures, music and food
Make friends from all over the world
Above all, it’s a friendly community where everyone can share their culture and feel at home.
We hope to see you soon. À bientôt!
