Peer Mentoring Scheme 2024 

The aim of the Peer Mentoring Scheme is to aid new students in a comfortable start to their academic journey to the University of Hertfordshire with peer-to-peer support.   The scheme is designed to ensure that first year students can get information and support from another student, find a friendly face to have a chat, talk things through or just ask a few questions when you’re not sure who to approach. 

Peer mentors share their experiences with first year students on their course, answering mentees’ questions, and helping them to access appropriate support services. Mentors maintain contact with their mentees throughout the year through messages, informal meet ups or events.  

Eligibility:  

If you will still be a student in the 2024-25 academic year and are in the 2nd or the final year of your Creative Arts undergraduate degree.

To apply fill in the simple questionnaire and record & sent a 30-60 sec video to peermentoring@hertssu.com, answering the question:

‘‘What would make a successful Peer Mentor?’’

What to expect on the day!

The day will be an exciting opportunity to meet new people, potential peer mentors in your school and members of the SU staff. The assessment center will include introduction to the SU and the Peer Mentor role, some exciting ice breakers, and some interactive group exercises.
