Purpose:

To develop and coordinate the promotional activity for the Forum Hertfordshire

Key role requirements:

  • Work in collaboration with the Forum Team, Elected Officer Team and other managers\departments to deliver a range of promotions and marketing aimed at increasing awareness of the Forum Hertfordshire events and services
  • Play a key role in the organisation of our annual Freshers’ and Refreshers’ Week promotions
  • Oversee marketing communications for all events and promotional campaigns, including print, digital and PR for the Forum Hertfordshire’s events, bars and retail outlets
  • Provide point of sale promotional support for the bars and retails outlets
  • Plan and coordinate the digital content for the Forum Hertfordshire website, emails and other digital communication channels. Ensuring all content is recent, relevant and engaging
  • Manage all of Forum Hertfordshire social media platforms
  • Manage on-campus poster and flyer distribution for the Forum Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire Students’ Union (with the support of casual staff)
  • Manage off-campus flyer distribution for the Forum Hertfordshire (with the support of casual staff)
  • Develop and maintain processes to measure the effectiveness and return of promotional campaigns
  • Ensure the prominence of the Forum Hertfordshire at large student events and other external events
  • Supervise and coordinate any external contractors related to promotions, ensuring all relevant documentation is receive and permits to work issued where necessary
  • To encourage all staff to contribute to reaching stretching targets
  • To lead by example and undertake duties to ensure promotional activity is run successfully (days, nights & weekends which include national and university holidays)
  • To ensure all staff (including externally contracted staff) work collaboratively whilst following Students’ Union policies and procedures
  • To communicate relevant information clearly and concisely to people at all levels within the organisation, University, local authority and external companies
  • To ensure casual staff have all appropriate information cascaded to them
  • Produce clear written procedures, checklists and communications for all promotional activity
  • Work in conjunction with the entertainments and venue teams to ensure all promotional activity is produced and actioned in a planned and strategic manner
  • Ensure all costs are calculated upfront and included on the individual budget plans
  • Contribute to achieving tight financial budgets
  • To assist in producing departmental plans for the promotional activity for the venues, entertainments and retail outlets
  • Record and use data to enable informed decisions
  • To work with the Licensed Trade Manager to investigate and implement new promotion opportunities
