Garvi Gujarati Society at the University of Hertfordshire is a dynamic and inclusive cultural society dedicated to embracing and promoting the rich and diverse heritage of Gujarat, India. Our name, "Garvi," meaning "proud," reflects our deep sense of pride in our Gujarati roots and our commitment to sharing this vibrant culture with the university community.

As a society, we aim to create a welcoming space where students from all backgrounds can come together to explore and celebrate the traditions, values, and customs that define Gujarati culture. From traditional music and dance forms like Garba, Dandiya Raas, and classical folk music, to the colorful festivals that mark the Gujarati calendar such as Navratri, Uttarayan, Diwali, and more, our events bring a piece of Gujarat to the heart of Hertfordshire.

We also take pride in offering opportunities to experience the rich culinary flavors of Gujarat, hosting feasts and cooking workshops that showcase popular dishes like Dhokla, Thepla, and Fafda. Additionally, we organize educational and interactive events where members can learn about the language, history, and customs of Gujarat, as well as social causes that matter to the Gujarati community globally.

Beyond cultural festivities, Garvi Gujarati Society is committed to building a sense of community and fostering lasting friendships. Our social events, mixers, and collaborations with other societies allow students to meet new people, network, and share experiences in a fun and relaxed environment. Whether you're a fluent Gujarati speaker or just curious to learn more about this beautiful culture, our society offers a space for everyone to participate, connect, and grow.

By joining Garvi Gujarati Society, you’ll become part of a group that not only celebrates Gujarat’s rich traditions but also brings them to life in the vibrant, multicultural environment of the University of Hertfordshire. We are passionate about creating memories that will last a lifetime, promoting cultural understanding, and embracing the unity in diversity that defines both our Gujarati heritage and the university experience.

Come be a part of Garvi Gujarati Society—where tradition meets togetherness, and everyone is welcome to explore the beauty of being proudly Gujarati!
