Hi, and welcome to the UH Photography Society page!
The Photography Society aims to create a community of like-minded students across both campuses who have a diverse interest in photography. Our society is for everyone; a safe space for you to express yourselves through the art of photography. No matter what your skill level is, the Photography Society will have something for you!
Our goal is to hold an array of events throughout the academic year, including photowalks in the surrounding towns/city, workshops, exhibition visits, guest speakers, and of course regular socials!
Membership Fee: £1
Meet the committee:
Gina Massie (she/her) - Chair
I’m about to enter my 2nd year as a full time Photography student after being part time for the last two years. I’m mainly into documentary and portrait photography but I love all things film so you will rarely see me with a digital camera in my hand! In my spare time I love to knit and read some books as well as building my own photobook collection of my favourite photographers works!
Olivia Lynsky (she/her) - Secretary
I am going to be starting my second year of Photography this September. I mainly focus my attention on photojournalism and documentary photography whilst also beginning to use analogue as a medium.
Alina Cazacu (she/her) - Treasurer
I’m going into my second year on my Photography course. I’m mainly interested in fashion photography but I do love experimenting with other types of photography such as portraiture and documentary. I love working with film but digital cameras are my go-to when it comes to my work. In my free time I love exploring new places, you could say I love to travel as I get to meet new people. I also enjoy having a coffee and reading different blogs.
Mia Naughton (she/her) - Inclusion Officer
I am entering my second year as a Photography student. I mainly focus my work on portraiture though have dabbled with fashion photography. I spend a lot of time outside of uni editing my photos, but when I have a little time on my hands I like to listen to music and read some books!
