The Society is open to anyone who would like to learn British Sign Language - no experience needed

 

The Society Aims To:

  • Provide each learner with the tools they need to confidently and accurately communicate with the Deaf Community
  • Give all learners a transferrable skill which they can apply to their field of study
  • Provide those who are Profoundly deaf or Hard of Hearing with a place where they feel comfortable and able to socialise
  • Create and maintain a positive learning environment for everyone

FAQ's

What do I need to bring?

Please bring a pen and some paper to each lesson to make notes or to write any questions you may have.

I don't know any signs...is this the right society for me?

It's okay -  we know most of you will not have learnt any signs before, so we will be teaching everyone for the first few weeks from a Beginners Level.

I already have a qualification in sign Language...Can I still Join?

Yes! The society is open to everyone  -  If you have already gained a qualification in Sign Language, you will have the opportunity to be challenged to learn some more complex signs with our qualified teachers.
