Harmonic Herts Music Society is the University of Hertfordshire’s inclusive, genre-blending music community — open to everyone, whether you’re a performer, songwriter, or just someone who loves to vibe with music.
We’re not about pressure or perfection — we’re here to celebrate music in all its forms. From soul and jazz to K-pop, J-pop, reggaeton, afrobeats, rock, pop, punk, lo-fi, Bollywood, and beyond — every taste and talent is welcome.

Expect open mic nights, jam sessions, karaoke, bonfire-style hangouts, music discussions, creative collabs, and performance showcases — all centred around fun, expression, and connection.

🎸 Taster Sessions — October 2025
We have now concluded our taster sessions — and we’re thrilled to announce that every single one sold out! Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make them a huge success. 🎉
Regular weekly Jam Sessions will now take place every Wednesday from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM in Main Building, Room LC154 (College Lane). Please note: this room will change in March 2026!
🎶 Event Plan
Here’s what we’ve got planned each month:
- Every week: Jam on Wednesdays (regular sessions)
- Once a month: Additional Jam on another day in 2B11 (Live Sound Stage in FMM)
- Once a month: Open Mic / Karaoke — performative event
- Once or twice a month: Community Night — community building event
Event days and times will vary so that everyone has a chance to attend at least one performative event, one community event, and our regular jam sessions each month. We know schedules can clash, which is why we’re offering a range of activities — so no one misses out!
To make this possible, we’re looking for more people to join our organisational team. If you’d like to help out and support our growing community, please volunteer whenever you can — every bit of help makes a difference!
