Vision:

My vision is to create an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment for all mature students at University of Hertfordshire. By addressing the specific needs and concerns of mature students, I aim to foster a sense of belonging and community, enhance academic and personal development, and promote a positive and enriching university experience.

Prime Concerns:

  1. Academic Support:
    • To advocate for more flexible learning options to accommodate mature students' schedules.
    • To collaborate with faculty to provide tailored academic resources and support, such as study groups, tutoring, and workshops.
    • To ensure mature students have access to relevant information on academic policies, procedures, and opportunities.
  2. Career Development:
    • To facilitate seminars, workshops and networking events focused on career development, job search strategies, and professional growth.
    • To establish connections with industry professionals and alumni to provide mentorship and career guidance tailored to mature students' needs.
  3. Financial Assistance:
    • I’ll work to increase awareness of and access to financial aid, scholarships, and grants specifically for mature students.
  4. Partner with the university administration to explore additional funding opportunities and support services for mature students facing financial challenges.
  5. Wellbeing and Support Services:
    • To promote mental health and wellbeing resources, ensuring mature students have access to counseling, stress management programs, and peer support groups.
    • To advocate for family-friendly facilities and services, such as childcare support and family accommodation, to help mature students balance their responsibilities.
  6. Community and Engagement:
    • Organize social events, networking opportunities, and support groups to help mature students connect and build a strong sense of community.
    • Create platforms for mature students to voice their concerns, share experiences, and provide feedback to the university administration.
