Being the black students officer for the university of Hertfordshire would not only be an incrediable opportunity as not only Black Hijabi Muslim but also for the representation it holds and to be a voice for the black community overall .
I want to make sure that if I do become the Black student officer that I will not only hear the voices of the black students that attend Hertfordshire University but to take action as well.
Representation is so incrediably important in education and to see representation as a person of colour is inspiring and I want to be able to inspire others in the same way many have done previously. I want to show pride in the representation I will hopefully bring to the university and in doing so, strive for positive change within the institution.
