Hi, I’m Pallavi Chintapalli, and I’m running for Mature Students' Officer. As someone who’s returned to university after years in the tech industry, I know how challenging it can be to balance studying with family, work, and other responsibilities. I believe mature students need better support, and I want to be the person who makes sure our needs are heard and understood.

One of the biggest challenges for mature students is finding flexibility in our studies. Many of us have work, family, or other commitments that make it hard to follow a strict schedule. If elected, I’ll work to make flexible learning options like part-time and blended courses more available so that we can keep up with our studies in a way that fits our lives.

Another goal of mine is to create a strong network for mature students. I want us to have a place to connect with others who understand what it’s like to be back at university after some time away. This network would help us support each other, share advice, and build friendships, making university life feel less isolating.

I also believe we need better access to resources that support our personal and professional development. Many mature students want to advance their careers, so it’s essential that we have access to career services, academic support, and mental health resources. I’ll work to make sure these resources are easy for us to access.

For those with families, I know it can be especially challenging to manage university life. I’ll advocate for family-friendly policies on campus and encourage events that welcome students with children. This way, more mature students can feel included and supported.

Finally, as a woman in a STEM field, I’m passionate about diversity and inclusion. I want every mature student, regardless of background, to feel welcome and respected. I’ll work to create a more inclusive environment where everyone has a place and feels valued.

Your vote can help make this vision a reality. By electing me as your Mature Students' Officer, you’re choosing someone who understands our challenges and will work hard to make positive changes. Let’s make our university a place where mature students can succeed and feel truly supported. Thank you for your support.
