I’m excited to share my vision with you as I run for the role of International Students Officer. As someone who has walked in your shoes, I know how challenging it can be to adapt to a new country, culture, and academic environment. It can feel overwhelming, and sometimes even lonely. But together, we can create a community that feels like home.
What I Stand For
- Better Support Services
- I want to ensure that every international student knows they have a support system behind them. Whether it's mental health resources, academic help, or legal advice, I will push for services that truly understand our unique struggles. No one should feel like they have to face these challenges alone.
- Building a Strong Community
- Community is everything. I’ll organize events that bring us together—cultural nights, study groups, and fun outings. These gatherings will not only help us make friends but also create a space where we can share our stories and celebrate our diverse backgrounds. Let’s build connections that last a lifetime!
- Open Lines of Communication
- I believe it’s crucial for us to have a voice. I’ll work to ensure there are open channels for us to communicate with the university administration. Regular feedback sessions will give us a platform to share our thoughts and concerns, so we can feel heard and valued.
- Advocating for Fair Policies
- Our wellbeing matters. I’ll fight for fair policies, including reasonable tuition fees, work opportunities, and support with visa processes. It’s important that we all feel secure and supported while studying here.
- Career Development Support
- Transitioning into the workforce can be tough, especially in a new country. I’ll push for career services that cater specifically to our needs, like workshops on CV writing and interview tips, along with networking events where we can connect with potential employers. We deserve the chance to thrive after graduation!
