Hello!
I’m Vishal Sharma, and I’m running to be your Commuting Students’ Officer. As a commuting student, I know how challenging it can be to travel to campus and feel connected to university life. My goal is to make life easier for commuting students by representing our needs, organizing events, and building a strong commuter community.
What the Role Is About
The Commuting Students’ Officer works to improve life at Herts for all students who commute. I’ll listen to your ideas and concerns, work with the Students’ Union and university staff, and organize activities to make sure commuting students feel supported and included.
My Main Goals
1. Hold Feedback Sessions for Commuters
• I’ll set up three feedback sessions each year so commuting students can share what they like, what’s difficult, and what could be better.
• These sessions will help us address real issues together and build a community.
2. Organize Events for Commuting Students
• I’ll create two events each year specifically for commuting students. These will be welcoming and accessible for all, helping commuters connect with each other and get involved on campus.
3. Be the Voice for Commuters
• As your representative, I’ll gather feedback from commuting students and use it to guide my work. I’ll attend university meetings, report on commuter needs, and push for positive changes.
4. Promote Commuter Resources and Events
• I’ll work with the university’s marketing team to keep commuters informed through social media and official channels about events, resources, and news.
5. Support Key University Events
• I’ll attend important events like Open Days and Freshers Week to help commuting students feel included from the very start.
Why Vote for Me?
I’m passionate about making university life better for commuting students. I’ll work hard to represent you, make sure your voices are heard, and build a strong commuter community at Herts.
Thank you for your support. Let’s make Herts a great place for commuting students together!
