Black Voices Matter - Black People in Film and TV

In this talk, Tré Ventour will discuss Black creatives in the film and television industry. He will give a brief history of Black actors in British film and Hollywood, as well as introduce us to concepts like representation. Moreover, one of his biggest passions, Black and Brown artists and creatives in historical dramas. Tré aims to push audiences to ask questions about race's relationship with film and TV, showing that Black Lives Matter can just as well say Black voices matter and the images created of Black people can have consequences, and these images go all around the world. Stories inform debate and representation is inherently political. Representation matters and the movers and shakers of the film and TV industry have a responsibility to do right by the communities they serve.
