This event is being hosted by the UH Kannada Society!
Kannada Rajyothsava is celebrated on Karnataka Formation Day in November each year to commemorate the formation of the state of Karnataka. This day marks the unification of all Kannada-speaking regions of South India.
The event is a matter of immense pride for the people of Karnataka, as it highlights the state's rich culture, heritage, and linguistic identity. Kannada Rajyotsava celebrations will kick off with an energetic flash mob, setting a lively tone for the evening.
The event will begin with a traditional pooja to invoke blessings, followed by a heartfelt rendition of the song "Hacchevu Kannadada Deepa," symbolizing the spirit of Karnataka. An introductory speech will then welcome everyone, reflecting on the significance of the day. The celebrations continue with dance performances showcasing traditional and modern styles, alongside a freshers' talk, allowing new members to share their experiences and thoughts on Karnataka culture.
To keep the excitement going, there will be an engaging Guess the Movie game, adding a fun, interactive twist to the festivities. A series of musical performances will follow, including a classical Carnatic Sangeetha song, group songs, and a boys' band performance. A mix of lively and cultural dance routines will be interspersed with more song performances.
As the event draws to a close, collective singing of Karnataka’s state anthem, "Naada Geethe," will be sung embodying our pride and love for Karnataka. This Kannada Rajyotsava celebration promises to be a memorable showcase of unity, culture, and heritage!
