Trains, Buses, and Nationalisation
Join us this week as we explore the history of the UK’s railways, from nationalisation to privatisation, and examine the government’s current plans for re-nationalisation, looking at both its potential benefits and shortcomings of the plans. We’ll also break down how ticket prices are set and discuss local and national bus services, including the £2 fare cap increase, Manchester’s Bee Network, and the University of Hertfordshire’s Uno buses. Understanding these systems is key to fighting for an accessible and publicly owned transport network that serves the working class.
