This event is hosted by the midwifery society.
Your training day will be delivered by one of Beyond Bea & CuddleCot expert team members in collaboration with 4Louis and they will provide a wide range of resources to create an interactive learning experience mixed with information, scenarios and hands on learning with our resources.
We will adapt to suit the needs of the attendees and will typically cover what is listed below:
- The day is delivered typically between 9am and 5pm, this can be adapted if required. (with access from 8am-6pm)
- You will each receive a CuddleCot pack containing resources to support your learning.
The agenda will include:
- Definitions and terminology related to baby and child loss Communication around diagnosis and loss Legalities
- The coroner and registering a birth & death Scenario based learning specific to the disciplines of those attending Signs of Life and babies born before the age of “viability” Maceration and decomposition
- Keeping babies and children cool after death Use of the CuddleCot/CuddleBlanket within a hospital environment and at home Post mortem, the procedure and additional investigations
- Religion and loss Interactive Memory Making Workshop including inkless prints, clay prints, 3D Casts, memory boxes and fingerprints Self care and trauma Parent accounts from guest speakers
- Compliance with national guidelines and codes of conduct
This will be the second time the Midwifery Society will be organising this training, following great feedback from last time.
