Black History Month Socialist Students Society Meeting
What can we learn from the Black Panthers?
Join us every two weeks for our regular Socialist Students Society meetings. Here we discuss socialist perspectives on current affairs, union action, issues impacting students and get organised for action on campus and beyond. On the alternate weeks, we are hosting ‘Socialist Socials.’
C402, Hutton Building, College Lane See Map
Each meeting will include:
• A lead discussion on a political or campaigning topic
• Open discussion where everyone can contribute ideas
• Organising time – planning recruitment, activism, campaign activities, and communications
This term we’ll be running a series on the history of student activism, covering topics such as Palestine student solidarity, climate strikes, and international perspectives on the student movement
We’ll also hold discussions on other key issues, including Black History Month, Nigerian solidarity movement, and the role of trade unions and strike action in fighting for socialist change.
Whether you’re new and just want to learn more or ready to fight for socialist change, these meetings are the best way to get involved in building a socialist student movement at the University of Hertfordshire.
