Raise and Give (RaG) is the fundraising wing of the Students'  Union, run by a committee of students.

 

We're very proud of our RaG Committee which is made up of a number of student volunteers in various roles. The RaG Committee takes the lead on all things fundraising here at Herts. You can find out more about the team in charge below!

Chair

The Chair oversees all the different sections of RaG, guides members, manages relations and will be the main point of contact.

Isabella Curtis

Pronouns: She/Her

Year of Study: 3rd Year

Course: BeD Primary Education

Fun fact: I am one of 10 siblings!

Why did you join RaG?: I joined RaG to make a difference within the university and to help raise awareness of charities and the fantastic work they do!


Vice-Chair

The Vice Chair supports the chair and will help to lead the RaG team.

Victoria Song

Pronouns: She/Her

Year of Study: 2nd Year

Course: BSc Pharmaceutical Science

Fun fact: I am from South Korea and lived in New Zealand for 6 years!

Why did you join RaG?: I joined RaG to be a better person. I believe that true happiness and gratitude in life only comes after you learn to give and help others. I also wanted to see this opportunity as the very first small step I make for my charity and volunteering journeys. RaG is a great group to get involved in even if you do not have any volunteering or fundraising experiences. Committee members make sure you know what is happening and how you can get involved. I’m glad that I have decided to join this group and actively influence fundraising for charities!


External Events Coordinator

The External Events Coordinator works with challenge providers, supports team leaders on upcoming trips and builds charity relationships.

Wesley Padfield

Pronouns: He/Him

Year of Study: 2nd Year

Course: Criminal Justice & Criminology

Fun fact: I do a pretty solid Donald Duck impression

Why did you join RaG?: I joined RaG because I have a strong, empathetic passion to community growth and helping people out. Taking part in the RaG skydive this year has truly elevated my love for such. Being able to take a role to work alongside charities with people from the same university is definitely an opportunity to be reckoned with! I have loved every minute of fundraising and working with the RaG team so far, and that is the reason I have happily taken a spot!


Internal Events Coordinator

The Internal Events Coordinator oversees on-campus events and campaigns. This role can include risk assessments and maintaining relationships with key University contacts.

 

Eijaz Bhunnoo

Pronouns: He/Him

Year of Study: 2nd Year

Course: Computer Science

Fun fact: I enjoy programming!

Why did you join RaG?: I joined RaG because I am dedicated to help different charities succeed and make a change to people’s lives. I am also passionate to spread these charities to the Herts community.

Haider Chaudhary

Why did you join RaG?: I have always wanted to be involved in charity work and giving back, and I felt this was a great place to start.


Media Officer

The Media Officer aims to build the RaG brand. They actively post on all of RaG's channels to promote our charities and other activity.


Social Secretary

The Social Sec focuses on hosting socials for the team, makes sure the team is inclusive, link to the SU's Advice and Support team and promotes socials with the Media Officer.
