During our time at University we seek to explore, enjoy and live our Catholic faith. You’re an adult now; no one is forcing you to go to Mass anymore. You’re the one taking decisions about your beliefs, your values, what sort of person you want to be, how you’re going to live your life. We’re Catholics because it’s true, because it helps us makes sense of life – whether our study of molecular biology or our relationship with our boyfriend or girlfriend. Our faith gives us the principles we need and, in doing so, makes us truly happy.

CathSoc is an official organisation recognised by the University Students’ Union. It’s run by students and for students, working with the chaplain, to support and encourage all aspects of Catholic life in the University. That means feeding our sacramental and spiritual lives, participating in lively debates and talks, enjoying an active social life and helping to fundraise for those less fortunate than ourselves – with hundreds of fellow Catholics from this country and around the world. We have both regular events year round and a special programme for each term.

If you live on campus or locally, you are very welcome to any of the Sunday Masses at St. Peter’s. You are, of course, very welcome to attend any of the parish Masses. These are at 9.00 am and 11.00 am on Sunday morning. However, there is also Mass at 6.00 pm each Sunday at St. Peter’s especially for University members. This is normally followed by a social event for students in the parish hall. A great way to get to know your fellow Catholics and enjoy yourself.

If you would like to know more about CathSoc, please don't hesitate to join our whatsapp group below or contact the Chaplain, Fr. Francis. We look forward to meeting you!
