Welcome to the University of Hertfordshire Chess Club! We are a group of dedicated chess players who come together to play, learn, and improve our skills. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, you will find a welcoming community here. We hold regular meetings on campus where we play friendly games and participate in tournament play

Update as of 17th February: We are hosting two weekly for this semester:

Mondays in F322 (Wright Building - College Lane) 16:00 - 17:30

Wednesdays in B200 (Main Building- College Lane) 13:30 - 15:00

Update as of 19th February: We are hosting a chess tournament for anyone to join this Saturday (22nd Feburary) - look for this event on our SU page for more infomation or feel free to drop us an email

We also encourage our members to participate in local, regional, and national chess tournaments, giving them the opportunity to test their skills against other players and gain valuable experience. Not only that, but we also often host guest speakers who provide valuable insights and tips on how to improve one's chess game.

Overall, joining the University of Hertfordshire Chess Club is a great way to enjoy the game with like-minded people and improve your chess skills. We look forward to welcoming you to our club!
